Combine several images into one PDF

A PDF made of several images is not a montage: it is a sequence of pages, one per image, in a precise order. Understanding that order saves you from converting twice.

Une image par page : l'ordre de la liste devient l'ordre du document.

One image becomes one page

The converter does not lay out a sheet: it places one image per page, in the order of the list. An image never shares its page with another, even when it is small or when the format leaves a lot of white space.

That order is set before conversion, with three equivalent means: drag a row, use the Move up and Move down buttons, or sort by file name. The preview follows immediately, and the PDF keeps the same order.

Naming files to get the right order

Sorting by name ranks files the way a person would, not the way a computer would: page-2 comes before page-10. Without zero padding, however, scan-10 sorts before scan-2 in your system's file browser, while the converter's own sort puts them back in natural order.

If your files come from a scanner or a phone, rename them with a numeric prefix of the same length (001, 002, 003) before importing: sorting then becomes unambiguous, including in other software.

Mixing portrait and landscape

With A4 or US Letter and Automatic orientation, each image gets the orientation that suits it: a landscape photo gives a landscape page, and the next one can be portrait. The document therefore alternates, which is normal and distorts nothing.

If you want a fully portrait document instead, choose Portrait orientation: each image is then scaled down to fit the page width, and landscape images leave white space above and below. No image is stretched to fill the page.

Check before downloading

The page count shown matches the number of accepted images, and the preview shows the selected page. Before downloading, page through two or three pages with the preview arrows, the first and the last especially.

The final file name is set in the settings. For one PDF per image, the files are numbered in list order and packed into a ZIP archive.
